"Not Very Nice"

First the positives, the staff was very friendly, free waffles, cereal and muffins and very reasonably priced. The room I had wasn't bad but had a little smoke smell. The place is old and needs remodeling very bad. I saw roaches and nothing seemed very clean. There were people outside drinking and playing music most nights until 11 or so. Looks like a lot of construction type workers stay here but not a family place.

"Terrible"
1 of 5 stars Reviewed Jul 15, 2014

I would get more staff. Very short handed and the one person at the counter was in charge of everything including maintenance. I arrived at 5:30 and was told there were no rooms ready yet even though check in time was at 3. I waited patiently while the counter person looked for a room for me and then she completely left her post to check on the availability of rooms all the while the lobby was filling with other customers who were also wanting to check in only to find out that there was no one there to attend them. This was definitely handled poorly. The finally get me a room and it is a dump. The carpets have not been vacuumed in a long time, it has a funky odor to it, and the Wi-Fi is not working. I have to get ready for a wedding I was in town for so I did not have time to complain to anyone about so I get into the restroom to take a shower and low and behold the light does not work in the restroom. I am very frustrated so I call the front desk and they tell me that they will send someone in a little bit because they are really busy. I patiently wait for someone for about 45 minutes and then call again to the front desk. At this point I ask to be moved to a different room because I need to shower to get ready for the wedding. The front counter person tells me that they do not have any other rooms available and that they will send someone to come fix the light. I should have just asked to for a refund then but I was in a hurry. Finally fifteen minutes later the front counter person shows up to fix my light, which means she probably left the front counter alone again. She finally fixes my light and I am able to shower and get going to the wedding. The next morning I wake up to take a shower again and low and behold the light is not working again. I decide to just take a shower in the dark and get out of this dump as soon as I can. I am extremely disappointed with this hotel because I have stayed at many very nice LQ locations and have always been satisfied but this place was horrible. I would not recommend that anyone stay at this place. I feel like I was taken to the cleaner with the 70 dollars that it cost me to stay here that night. I would have probably paid about 5 bucks to stay there and that would probably still be too much. This experience has really made me think twice about booking another room at any La Quinta in the future.

"Terrible place to stay"

Horrible customer service, rooms smell terrible, place is falling apart and management team does not care! A/C unit didn't work properly. We stayed for 3 nights and our room was not cleaned the entire time we stayed. At 8:00 PM at night, we were told our room wouldn't be cleaned and they had no clean towels. Don't waste your money staying here!

"Incredibly disgusted"
1 of 5 stars Reviewed Jul 5, 2014

Got to the location a little after 3 on day of check in to find out that there were no clean rooms available. We were told by the front desk clerks it would be over an hour before any became available. That was true. When finally given our room, as we entered we were greeted by the cleaning staff lounging on the stairwell sitting and talking to each other. They informed us our room was not ready and didn't seem as if it were too important for them to get up and finish. After they left, it was still filthy. Carpets were wet all night. Beds were dirty on top of covers just thought that could be from the ac so I didn't think much of that but looking back, gross. Everything about being in that room that night was just uncomfortable, from the bed to ac not working properly to crappy shower. Woke up the next morning, after not sleeping well in the first place, to finding I had been sharing my bed with bed bugs. I didn't even see the bed bugs til after I saw that I had bleed on the sheet first . This is my first experience ever with bed bugs and I'm completely disgusted. Not happy at all about this experience.

"If you've liked previous stays at a La Quinta?this won't be one of them!"
1 of 5 stars Reviewed Jul 4, 2014

So, when you pull up to the front and enter the lobby, this place looks promising. The lobby had a distinct aroma of laundry detergent, which is a bit heavy, but pleasant. After taking one of my children to the bathroom, however, I realize that there is an obvious lack of a descent manager here. In the bathroom, a huge rolling mop bucket blocks the sink and I realize that the lobby bathroom must double as the cleaning supply closet. Walking upstairs through the lobby to our room, the pleasant detergent aroma fades and you quickly get a whiff of mildewed carpet with an obvious view of a carpet stain at the top of the stairs that is so large,it makes you wonder if this was a crime scene at some point. Once you walk outside to your room, it's apparent that the last renovations that were done to this place may have been in the early 90s, as everything looks very outdated. Inside your room, you are greeted with a musty aroma (or urine stench, as my sister found out) and lack luster accommodations. In the interest of brevity, our room had a small part of the ceiling falling in, broken door stop, cigarette burns on the side of the tub and a corroded tub nozzle all complete with broken, no longer functioning shower/bath switch. However, because the shower/bath switch is broken you have the option to take both a bath and shower at the same time(which is your only option, by the way)! Also, our AC unit never cooled down the room and the continental breakfast options are just sad. The worst part of our stay was the throngs of yelling people outside our room all excited to spend the rest of their Fourth of July weekend here. We had to call the front desk because the room sharing the back wall to our room was loudly yelling and banging on the walls. The best portion of the stay was check-out, knowing I would be moving on to much better accommodations. As this review was written, this motel ranks as the #6 of 9 places to stay in the Clute/Lake Jackson area. After this, I was left wondering how any other lodging could be worse. Spend a little extra and go somewhere else or don't stay in the area if you really don't have to.
