"Below La Quinta standards"

We found that the building was quite old and possibly this was an old Howard Johnson's Hotel. Room was clean but, the bathroom amenities were not complete. Breakfast was incomplete and did not offer same quality nor, same items as other La Quinta locations offered. Staff was not proactive either. We are grateful for clean bedding to sleep tight after a long day. I have stayed at 14 other La Quinta locations in past 2 months and majority were following same standards except for this one.
"DO NOT STAY HERE-cleaner if you slept on 6th street road"

Stayed there this past weekend. Checked into room, hung clothes and about 5mins later started smelling urine. Went into the restroom and the toilet had urine all over it, hair everywhere, and the actual urine smell was coming from the closet where someone must have peed in. All my clothes placed in closet smelled like urine. Took a picture of restroom toilet and will be happy to share for confirmation of reason not to stay. If they don't even wipe down their rooms, you can guarantee the disaffectant cleaners are rarely used, and who knows when they was bed sheets.
Fron office appeared to be frustrated that they were having to switch me to a new room...but they did. I was told the new room had a king bed and sleeper sofa bed for coworker...turns out a sleeper sofa bed means, you sleep on a couch. This room did not smell of urine or have urine all over the restroom, but the hotel room did provide extras such as: heavily staned couch (to sleep on) and chair, 4 dead cock roaches, a 24/7 loud screaming noise from the freezer, one window unit that set off the fire alarm when it's heater function was turned on.
I've stayed in shady places before, but this is the worst and only review I have ever taken time to type. Check out any other hotel for availability.
This review is on the Oltorf location. DO NOT STAY THERE!!!! I booked my SUITE in April 2013 for a stay on November 2nd. I asked the booking agent at LaQuinta to please make sure this was a clean hotel, due to the fact that I stayed at a LaQuinta on I-35 last year and it was a disaster. They guaranteed me that this location was better, so I made the arrangements. After driving 6 hours, and attending a football game, we arrived at this hotel to find that the lobby was filthy and the guest's bathroom in the lobby had urine all over the floor. We proceeded to our room, a suite mind you, to find body hair of all sorts covering the sheets. Not only that, urine stains on the bottom and top sheets like they had never been changed since the previous guests. We returned to the front desk and expressed our disgust. The manager then gave us the keys to another suite. It, too, had body hair on the sheets, and, what appeared to be blood stains covering the carpet. At this point, I was about to lose it! We returned to the front desk and asked if they had a clean REGULAR room. The manger then sent a housekeeper to check a room. She returned and told him it was clean. We decided to look at it since we were exhausted. We get into that room and began to look at those beds. The housekeeper was with us on that one. We pulled back the sheets on bed number one, and what do you know...a body hair from the private region!! The housekeeper stood there in amazement. (I took photos of all of these things to send to LaQuinta, and the housekeeper photographed this hair alongside of me.) This was the biggest hotel fiasco of my entire life!!!! We demanded a full refund and for the points to be credited back to the rewards card. We then had to drive TWO HOURS to find a vacant hotel for the night. DO NOT STAY/RESERVE A ROOM AT THE LAQUINTA ON OLTORF ST IN AUSTIN!!! If you do, you will be taking chances with your health!!
"Good quiet and comfortable sleep close to everything in Austin"

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at our hotel on Oltorf in Austin, Tx where we stayed from Tuesday through Saturday nights. It was quiet and clean and a plus for us was the Starbucks right across the highway where we could get a Wall Street Journal and a NY Times and a great cup of coffee. This LaQuinta is a working man's hotel and we like this. The place was priced so that we could make this trip on our budget and it's always nice to get our cereal, a piece of fruit, yogurt (for me) and a cup of coffee before we started our sight seeing. We enjoyed Austin but wouldn't have if we couldn't rest and unwind at night. We were pleasantly surprised and pleased that we could get Fox News too. Thanks La Quinta.
Staff at desk + housekeeping were very helpful. I had a handicap room. Kleenex box was empty + coffeepot was missing lid and disposable tray. Front desk was helpful to quickly replace these items. The security door to access my wing where suites are located had a broken access lock. You are supposed to swipe your card to open door. A sign even says card needed to access 24/7...maybe when door is repaired. I was also disappointed at a recent policy where not all rooms have micro-fridge. It was inconvenient when I entered the room and discovered this fact. I had made reservation via La Quinta Returns. The previous manager (Trudy) was on top of stuff like this. This is my favorite La Quinta location in Austin, but new manager will have to step it up to hit the same quality as previous manager.
