"A rare bad La Quinta"

I booked this la Quinta through Priceline and got a reasonable rate for a football weekend in Lubbock. I did not bother to research the property since I assumed it was an excellent hotel as most la Quinta are. I was wrong. It is a 60's style motel that has seen better days. The property is dirty, the rooms are musty and my room (220) had a bathroom so small I could barely fit in it. It was noisy all night. The good news is the staff are great. Very helpful and friendly. Do not stay here at any price.

This hotel was the only one we could get. The cost was way too high for the quality. The internet did not work, they put us in a room where someone smoked and instead of moving us, they had a person come spray a deodizer but it did not help.

"Filthy bathroom, and room smelled of smoke"

The bathroom looked like it was swept and all the dirt was left in a pile..the bathroom also looked like it was mopped with dirty water. Room also smelled of smoke. Although management did apologize and reduce the rate, if was an unpleasant experience.

"It will do in a pinch"

It's an older property but it was satisfactory. The people were very nice and accommodating which I would expect in Lubbock. I went to college in Lubbock so I was familiar with the location which is towards the outside of town. Lubbock isn't very big and roads are laid out in a grid so it's easy to get around in a very short time so the outer location wasn't an issue. The rooms are fine, linens, beds - all clean. Bathroom and vanity area were also clean. Like I said the room was satisfactory and I had no problems with my stay. The exterior of the hotel has a very aged appearance. I spent very little time at the hotel so the age of the property wasn't an issue, I wasn't there to take advantage of the "amenities" I needed a place to stay for a few days while I visited with family. I did not take advantage of the breakfast but it is offered complimentary. If what I'm describing is acceptable to you then you can expect a decent stay at an very good price.

"Don't stay here!"

I will start by saying the staff was very gracious. However, the lack of cleanliness out weighed that. The carpet turned my daughter's feet black from the dirt. The bathroom was larger than most hotels. However, there were two dead roaches under the sink in the bathroom and disgusting hair beside the toilet. There were people knocking on doors until late into the night. We went swimming and there was nasty looking water standing around what I believe were supposed to be drains. We were intending on staying three nights and we checked out after the first. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
