"Too expensive for what it offers"
Reviewed Jun 8, 2013

My wife yelled at me and ordered me not to stay at they usual "dumps" (Motel 6, Super 8, Howard Johnson's and others) that I usually select during my road trips. So, I got a La Quinta Inn which was $30 more expensive than the aforementioned. What a disappointment! This is a motel like the ones in the Tarantino movies! This is no La Quinta Inn! The property is old, there was no shampoo, no plugs by the side of the bed to connect anything,
Fortunately, I am a heavy sleeper but the noise from the highway is loud. Even the towels are OLD! and I paid $ 80 for this! Sorry honey next time I am coming back to a nice Super 8 for only $49.99.
I should have done my homework alil better while looking up hotels. I took for granted that La Quinta inns are usually better- this one not so much.
Upon checking in, I was greeted by friendly management who was helpful- however, the room and the area had much to be desired:
1) There was no weather stripping on the door. This may sound trivial, but it can be abit daunting to be staying in a somewhat not so great area and seeing the headlights of vehicles peers through your door. It felt like the Amityville Horror or was it Poltergeist?
2) Door didn't really closes right, I wedged a chair against the door to be sure.
3) It seemed to be pretty busy outside at night around 10ish, I could hear all kinds of voices from outside. Noisy.
4) Wasn't impressed by the semi-trucks parked on multiple parking spaces at once in a small parking lot. I understand they need to place to stay, but maybe there could have been a better solution like behind the hotel in the huge empty movie theater parking lot?
5) Weak breakfast. Wheres the protein?
Ok, alil flustered by the area, but here's the good:
1) Clean rooms,
2) Nice water pressure in the bathroom, A/C worked great
3) Friendly front desk workers
Overall it's ok for an overnight stay, but I wouldn't stay at this location any longer.
the stay was nice, there was some dust on the boardbed and the toilet had water marks. This is a pretty great hotel, the area is awesome you are so close to everything. The only thing I wasn't happy with was that I didn't have a mini fridge in my room oh and the breakfast could be improved the waffles are a little soggy. Overall it was a great stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is on vacation in san antonio.
We went to my grandson's Air force Graduation and stayed 7 days at the motel. It was noisy and dirty. My new slippers were black from the dirty carpet. Towels, toilet tissue and facial tissues were not restocked on a daily basis, we had to go to the front desk to get whatever housekeeping failed to replenish. I waited for the waste basket to be emptied for days. On the third day I pulled it into the center of the room, so they had to empty it or walk around it. I always bring large plastic bags for my laundry. Four days into our stay I noticed ants inside my bags. My husband went to the front desk to get some insecticide, but they did not have any in stock. We were offered a different room, but I was not sure if the other room would be any different, so we declined. We were able to control them with lysol spray that we always carry with us when we travel. When we got home, I emptied my laundry bags immediately into the washer to kill ants and bugs that survived the trip home.
