We so enjoyed our first stay on the way to our destination we made an effort to stay again on our way home two weeks later . despite all the remodeling the hotel was clean, and the staff friendly. Thanks you also for accepting pets , ours are a part of the family and without wonderful places like La Quinta we would not be able to travel at all . Thanks again so very much and we will be sure to recommend all La Quinta inns ( except for the Ft Collins location) to all our friends and family . and of course our Trucker friend as well , who goes through there frequently . My husband & I stayed in Caldwell for 15 days while visiting our daughter & grand daughter. We enjoyed everything this hotel had to offer. The staff was very friendly & accommodating. I work in foodservice, and was very pleased with the breakfast buffet and how clean the girls kept everything. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the staff there.
I've been staying at this hotel once or twice a year for ten years. The hotel hasn't changed much in all that time, and it's beginning to show. Of course, they do regular maintenance. This year they were putting on a new roof and painting the outside. The basic setup though is the same. The rooms are tiny. I had a king bed that took up almost all the room. The dogs had to move so that I could get dressed. They put in new LCD TV's, but didn't bother to subscribe to HD channels, so all the characters look about 30 pounds heaver. WiFi was better than average. I got about 5Mbs download, but not much bandwidth. I got a room for under $60, but of late it looks like there must be a new owner since their rates are considerably higher than normal. I won't stay here if I can stay at the new LQ in Meridian which is only 20 miles away for about the same money. As the title suggests, the breakfast is the best part of the hotel. Biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, real yogurt, cereal, plenty of rolls and bagels, and of course the mandatory make your own waffles. The dogs loved the 100 acre field full of moles next door.
This hotel is an old, worn, tired property. I expect better from the La Quinta brand. The lobby and hallways are dated and worn out. The room itself was too small. The TV and the bed were both brand new and very good, but there was only room for one chair in the room. The breakfast was excellent, but the breakfast room was small and crowded. I asked for a newspaper, and was told "they are in the breakfast room". It turns out there were a total of two newspapers which had been shared by every other visitor before I arrived. In addition, the hotel had a construction crew rebuilding their entrance and they started making noise outside my room too early in the morning. I would avoid this hotel in the future.
After a long day of driving from Vancouver, WA to Caldwell...it was so nice to get to our hotel. The friendly check in staff greeted us warmly and we were all set to relax for a bit before meeting friends for dinner in Nampa.
There was only one issue that the hotel folk probably had no control over, and that was the amount of construction workers onsite, out front of the hotel, smoking and drinking...dropping "F" bombs as adjectives and adverbs...and possibly pronouns. I'm not a prude...and I've been known to use some explitives...however...time and place, folks. If this is going to be slated as a family friendly...meaning children...location...there needs to be some attention to detail here!
Other than this...loved the location...great breakfast...good night's sleep!
