This is a very nice LaQuinta, with outside entrances to your rooms. This was our second stay here and the king suite is well appointed. Breakfasts are the usual La Quinta fare: cereals, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, waffles, various breads, coffee and three choices of juices.
The down side is its location, right on Interstate 40 East, which is convenient, but noisy. The king suite is in the front over the lobby, so it gets more road noise than rooms further back off the road. The other minus is the air conditioner in the two room suite. When the A/C comes on, you'd swear you were on the runway! So unless you've had several margaritas, have driven all day and are dead tired, or Ambien is your best friend, don't expect to fall asleep the minute your head hits the pillow.
I chose this location over the west as it had been redone in 2012. Big mistake. Impossible to get to if you don't hit the right exit. In a mish mosh of other hotels and fast food.
The room was a suite and the bed was a joke. The base had been crunched and was raised off the floor on one corner and the center was raised at least 3". One side of the mattress was at least 4" lower on the edge than the rest of the bed. It continued to be sagging drastically all the way back across the bed to the center. It appeared to have base, box springs and mattress problems.
When reported they swore no one had ever said a word about it. They did take my rate down to a standard king instead of a suite. There were lots of tell tale signs of the 60's something aging MOTEL.
The breakfast area was so small only 6 tables were available. Impossible for guests to have sit down space and enjoy anything. Thank God for Denny's next door . I cannot recommend anything about this hotel.
Everything exceed expectations except the shower my who uses a wheelchair had difficult time getting into shower because it is a regular tub with grab bars. A walkin shower would be a much better option when someone ask for a handicap room
Sorry for the ugly title, but it is reflective of an ugly property. OK, will start with the good news: beds are updated, clean, and comfortable. The rest of the room, and the hotel, looks old and worn. Was surprised to find this is an old style motel, with outdoor entrances. Very small rooms, not in the least attractive. All of the building needs a good paint job. Breakfast area was small and not attractive. Actually, left and paid for breakfast rather than eat the less than attractive breakfast offering. Will check LaQuinta hotels more carefully next time before booking.
We travel with our dog so stay at La Quintas frequently. This was probably the worse one we were at. The people at the front desk were nice enough, but the facility was disgusting. The grounds were not kept well and there was dog droppings all over. Yes, several pet owners stay at La Quaintas because they are extremely pet friendly, but all the others we've stayed at had clean grounds! The room was okay. Bed was okay.
