"Sh** Hole :)"

The second we walked into our room, we didn't find it to be so bad until we found cleaning equipment left behind. The handle to the bathroom was broken so you had to have someone open it from the outside. Not to mention there were used cigarettes crammed into the top of the the dresser. The room itself reaked of old perfume, ammonia ( cleaner ), old cigarettes and had a musty hint to it as we'll. We went to the front desk to ask for them to fix the handle, and they said they would get around to it sometime in the morning (thanks... That's great), meanwhile not apologizing in the least for the cigarettes, and cleaning equipment left behind. Next we tried out the "heated" pool, which had very foggy water and was very cold, and had some odd chunky things in it? As we left the pool another customer was complaining about how run down there room and the place overall was. We'll you get the point, I'm going to be blunt here and simply describe it as a Sh** Hole. :)

"Terrible"

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Our room wasn't just filthy, it wreaked of urine, stale smoke, musty odor and a douse of perfume so strong that we wanted to leave immediately, however, all other hotels were booked and we just needed one night. No other rooms at La Quinta were available. The floor appeared damp. I was very worried to sleep on the beds. I am not sure the sheets were cleaned because pulling out the sofa bed indicated that sheets were wrinkle in places it shouldn't have been. Pillows were flat. The TV was small old and staticky. There was oily perfume grease on the desk chair so bad that I used a wet towel to clean it. The dirt that came off made me want to vomit. To try and improve the experience, we went to the pool to play with our kids. Mistake. Unsupervised rude kids were running around with drunk people in the corner. My daughter couldn't wait to take a shower because she said she thought urine was in the spa. Two men hung out for hours in the lobby with pizza boxes that were associated with the rude kids in the pool. We thought maybe the desk lady was letting them use the pool without being guests. The walls are so thin, you can hear folks showering above as it they were in the room. For the amount of money we paid, I would have expected at least a clean room.

"Gross"

For the amount of money I paid for the room $179. It sucked. We just left a beautiful hotel in Cranbrook and paid $150 there and we got a roll away. This place was dirty, old, run down. The pool was murky and full of chunks of something. The rooms stank of must. The carpets weren't vacuumed. The beds were lumpy the pillows flat. We tried and tried to find somewhere else to stay but to no avail. My husband slept above the sheets. The roll away that I paid an extra $10 for was ripped and flat and dipped in the middle. This place sucks.

"A basic room with breakfast"
3 of 5 stars Reviewed Aug 13, 2014

We needed a place to sleep for a couple of nights while we visited Silverwood, and wanted a good, basic hotel to rest our heads. We got that with the La Quinta East, but there were enough concerns that we'll be looking elsewhere on our next visit to Coeur d'Alene. We noticed a couple of issues upon arrival that didn't sit well with us: first, there was a wet spot on the carpet near the kitchen area, and some yellowish liquid in the garbage can nearby. We didn't have a black light with us to determine whether the spot was of human origin, so we pretended it was Gatorade. Oddly, the garbage can had not been emptied the next day, and the yellowish liquid remained. Second, we always do a bed bug check in every hotel room we stay in, before bringing in the luggage. This typically involves looking under the mattress in the seams of the box spring for the telltale signs of bed bugs. While the beds were OK (we would have immediately left had they not been), the mattress and bed skirt tucked into it were filthy--they clearly hadn't been cleaned in some time. The beds themselves were comfortable, and the shower big enough, but the third issue we noticed was there wasn't any soap provided either by the sink or in the bathtub. Since we brought some with us, we used our own bar, and assumed that housekeeping would leave some for us the next day...but they didn't. I found a bar in the hallway on our way to the park the next morning (presumably having fallen from a housekeeping cart), and stashed it to pick up upon our return. Our daughter enjoyed the pool area, and we were fortunate enough to grab the last two towels upon arrival. Not sure what the guests who visited after us did, perhaps walk back soaking wet to their rooms? Breakfast was what we expected, breads and pastries, cold cereal, oatmeal, coffee/tea/juice, and the flip-it-yourself waffle makers, which my wife and daughter love. I would have liked to see some bananas among the scant selection of fruit. We don't need a lot to get us going in the morning, so the food met our needs. Even with the AAA rate, our room was still $180 per night including the taxes. We expect more from a 2-3 star hotel in Coeur d'Alene, and will look into staying in Sandpoint for future visits to the area.

did not like the location of hotel. not in the best area. rooms need a serious update. food needed to be more variety. prices too high for what we stayed in. this review is way too long and redundant and would not do a survey again because it is too long and redundant.
