Booked this hotel for a 4 night stay. Booked 2 nights and they discounted the next 2. Ask for Arturo or Bernice when you check in. We came late and night and Arturo was working the front desk. After a long flight, hot Texas weather, being tired, and checking around for a suitable hotel, Arturo was a breath of fresh air.
Bernice was at the counter the next night. I needed an extra blanket for my bed. She promptly retrieved one, made a little small talk, and told me to have a nice night.
The hotel is in a safe area. I am 25 and had my friend's little brother, who was 14 at the time, stayed in a 2 bed suite. Never once did I feel like we were not safe. They have parking lot security on duty at night and the lobby doors close at 11, (you just have to call to get in after that time).
I never swam in the pool, but my friend's younger brother did a few times. He said it was small, but was good for a quick swim.
Very impressed with the breakfast offered.
Beds were clean and comfortable.
Also has free wifi, free parking, and a checkout time of 12 p.m.
Downsides:
The fitness center is a hot and humid little suite-turned-fitness-room.
The cleaning staff in the hotel was not very friendly. I tried to speak to them twice in the elevator, only to be ignored.
The elevator is slow and we were afraid of getting stuck in it, due to some of the noises it was making. If you don't have the time to wait for it, definitely take the stairs. The entrance to the hotel is in an odd spot. You have to drive through the Sonic parking lot to get to it. We missed the entrance the first time.
DO NOT eat at the Sonic next to this hotel. They are VERY unfriendly, rude, and deliver sub-par service and food.
Over all: Clean rooms, safe area, great price, friendly staff. Would stay here again.
I booked this hotel as I was in town for a concert. I ended up needing to extend my stay by one night and was accommodated without issue. The room was very clean. The breakfast was also good each morning. If I am in the area again I would definitely not hesitate to stay here again.
The overall quality and value of the hotel was very satisfactory. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful as well as very friendly. I wasn't able to check in early but a major convention was in town. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The location is a bit odd and access to the building is strange but doable. Lots of places to eat close by.
When you check in, ask for Bernice. She's very friendly and accommodating. Her front desk competence is excellent. When I arrived, found out I had 2 different reservations on 2 different floors. My stay as Gold Card member was to be only $30. plus room tax of $5.00. Was told it was $89.00 plus tax. Called Gold Card private line. The problem was quickly resolved by Bernice and the call center person. Got the rate as expected and confirmed. They have an new lady manager. Asked "where's Herb, the GM"? Was told he was transferred to Reliant location. New manager was not as well liked by the staff. Herb is an excellent manager and been there for many years. Always gave me a good rate. And good to meet and greet his guests in person as well as by phone. Gonna miss him. Tell Wayne Goldberg he needs to return Herb to Houston NW property. Couldn't locate the new manager upon checkout the next day. Nowhere to be found. OOoops! I'm a "motel-hotel" brat whose been raised and worked in LaQuinta Inns since the 1960s when owned by Sam Barshop. I know the ins and outs of the biz. Trust me, how well I know. Go figure.
We stayed only one night. The hotel look nice and in good condition. The breakfast was good. Walk to some local restaurants and fast food.I booked the room by hotels.com. The price is total $80 included tax. Not bad. Will come back when we in town.
