Location was great...just off the interstate. Lots of good restaurants within 2 miles. There was some freeway noise, as my room was on the freeway side. Also, a truck keep the engine running part of the night.

"Not Bad For The Price"
3 of 5 stars Reviewed Jun 2, 2013

My wife and I took a trip to ST Louis this past weekend and chose this location because we had our 2 dogs with us. La Quinta is a very pet friendly chain and we were able to bring the dogs with no pee fee incurred. I would like to note a few points for fellow travelers. 1. This is a no frills hotel. What I mean by that is if you are looking for a 5 star breakfast, doorman, game room, luxurious indoor swimming pool...Then this is not a good property to chose. Expect a decently clean room with a bed and TV. 2. This property literally bumps right up against I-270. The big take away is that yes, you will hear traffic. That being said I've stayed in nosier locations. 3. The staff here is extremely friendly. From the top down they do it right. We arrived after 11pm in a rainstorm and were greeted with enthusiasm by Bo at the front desk. We stayed until Saturday and every employee with came across from the breakfast attendant to the housekeeping crew were extremely polite. 4. Previous reviews about the driveway are spot on. Coming off i-270 you need to be on alert because the driveway to the property is not well marked and is easily missed. Happened to us twice. Overall it was a decent stay. The 3 star review is simply because it was just an average hotel. Like I said before. No frills. The power went off while we were there and the front desk clerk was so understanding and let us check out after 4pm on Saturday and ensured we would not be charged for that night (i believe her name was Chelsea?). Excellent Customer service!

"Not the best LaQuinta"
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

This hotel is an exception to the normally very clean La Quintas where I have stayed. The beds were clean and comfortable, but that's about where it stopped. The bathroom floor was downright gross with hair, candy wrappers and nail clippings. The shower had dirty soap scum and dried on shampoo and looked liked it had not been cleaned in a long time. Carpeting in the room needed a good sweeping as there were bits of who knows what all over. Deadbolt lock for the door to the room did not work. The room also smelled faintly of smoke. The restroom off of the lobby also needed serious cleaning. We would have asked for a different room but it was late, we were exhausted from a day long drive, and it would mean moving everything we already brought to the room. I don't have high expectations for an inexpensive hotel, but this location is not up to par with other LaQuintas, or other accommodations.

"Needs some updates"

Well I will start by saying the place is clean. My room was about 100 ft from the interstate and my window was broken making the noise almost unbearable. Sounds like staying at a public rest area. Breakfast was stale bagels, cheap waffle maker and cereal. Smelled very bad in halls of smoke. Would not stay here unless looking solely on price. I did not have any issues with the internet on my visit

"Older but clean, good for the price"

It's a little bit hard to find the driveway into this place. Coming from the South on I-270, it's nearly impossible to make the left turn and you end up having to go a bit west on Dorsett Road and turn around. The motel sits almost immediately adjacent to I-270 so there is a lot of road noise. The lobby was nice and the service friendly. We were given a 3rd floor non-smoking room. There was a stale smoke smell in the hallway as we got off the elevator but the room itself had no smell at all. The only other annoyance was that there was only one bath towel. The wifi worked very well. Overall, we were happy with staying here for one night and the price was very reasonable. They should really work a little harder to clear out the smell of cigarettes from the hallways.
