The woman at the front desk was very welcoming and warm. She efficiently checked me in and out when I was ready to go. The location was convenient. The room and breakfast was just as described. I enjoyed my stay and will stay at La Quinta again.

This seemed to me the best value among Brownsville lodgings with very good Tripadvisor ratings. A driveway flanked by palm trees leads to a nicely landscaped mid-range hostelry. Clean, comfortable room, with quiet air conditioning and a wonderful pillow-top mattress. Good pillows, too. There's a refrigerator and microwave. Filling breakfast, including - during our stay - scrambled eggs and sausage, accompanied by biscuits and gravy one day, hot tortillas the next. It's set far enough back from the highway that outside noise isn't an issue. Too bad the same can't be said for inside noise. The staff is friendly to a fault - the fault being that the morning desk jockey's voice carries down the first floor hallways as he heartily greets guests passing through the lobby. He had us awake by 6:30. Then there was the kid running up and down the second floor hall after we'd gone to bed, the heavy-footed person walking around in the room above us, and the person in the next room whose headboard apparently backed up to ours. The walls are thin enough that at first I thought my bride was snoring. We clearly heard our neighbor's clock radio go off before daylight, followed shortly by his or her cell phone alarm. There's a small but inviting pool area behind the hotel, with a shaded gazebo for enjoying a book, a beverage, or simply watching the geckos. There's also a fitness room, and a laundry room for those with $1.50 in change and their own detergent. Some others in our party stayed down the service road a couple of miles at the Residence Inn. If you're looking for something slightly more upscale and accordingly more expensive, I'd suggest that. Tip: it appears that you can only access the property off of the freeway frontage road...but there's an unmarked entrance off of Alton Gloor Road. Turn in just past the Valero station on the corner, like you're going to the car wash.

We were so happy to find this beautiful newer LaQuinta. Felt like staying at a spa. We had a beautiful room/suite on first floor. Excellent parking in back for our little Motorhome. They gave us an end of hall room, so it was very convenient to go outside to walk our dog. Enjoyed time at the beautiful little pool. A little cool (not heated). They a nice little laundry room, so we got caught on our laundry while there. Nice breakfast with lots to copse from, including bacon, sausage, refrained beans, and warm tortillas!! Front desk representative, Jeff, was wonderful. Very knowledgeable of the area and so helpful with everything available to us at the hotel. You must ask him about his Chihuahua dog! He is a real animal lover! Whenever we go back to Brownsville, we will always stay at this LaQuinta.

great place to stay. staff is very friendly. food was very good. very clean.location is good., close to shops, wal-mart across the st.,padre iland is 24 mi. zoo is close this is my 3rd. stay at this laquinta.and i recommend this la quinta, good value.

This hotel was great. The staff was very friendly and the evening reception for guests is a nice added bonus. The evening reception had free snacks and drinks that you would normally just see at more expensive hotels. The breakfast was also well stocked and had hot breakfast foods that most La Quinta's don't have so that was great too. Great value and a great stay!
