We arrived a couple of days before Christmas. Our original plan did not include checking in with our dog, unfortunately the dog sitter arrangements we had made got cancelled due to illness of the dog sitter. Without a pet reservation and no pet friendly rooms available, we were stuck 300 miles from home with a problem.
BUT the staff at La Quinta made a couple of calls, got approvals from regional management, and we got a room approved for us and the dog. No extra fees, and all done with a smile.
The room was large, clean, and extremely comfortable. The full breakfast buffet was delicious and well stocked. The staff was very helpful and always cheerful.
The only bad thing about this hotel is getting to their driveway. It sits back from a very busy highway frontage road with one driveway entrance, if you miss it, and don't know about the back way, you may end up driving two miles with a few very long traffic lights to get back to the main driveway entrance.
I have stayed at this La Quinta Inns & Suites North for several times this past month. The staff is Great, the breakfast is Great and location is Great. Special thanks to the General Manager Sally she has been more than helpful with my special request at check in.
The best La Quinta I have stayed in. Really nice place. I would definitely seek out his
hotel in my next visit to the Brownsville/ South Padre Island visit. Didn't have time to use the pool, but it looked to be well maintained.
The rooms are great, hotel is a great location. I just can't believe that the hot tub has been broken since spring break. I stay at this location on a regular basis. So I've asked, I've complained. And here it is June and it still hasn't been fixed. What gives?
Our family decided to take a trip down to South Padre lsland for Memorial Day. Most hotels on the island where out of our budget. So we decided to stay in Brownsville which is about 40mins from SPI. We looked around and decided that La Quinta met all of our needs. Everything you read about this hotel is spot on. Firstly the location is great, many fast food places are within walking distance. The hotel is easly to find as it is right off the freeway on the access road. The landscaping is beautiful, surrounded by fountains. The lobby is decorated asian style, its so inviting with sofas. Big screen tv and refreshments and snacks. The breakfast is good with a variety of things to chose from. The room was clean and came with fridge and microwave. Beds are comfortable. All the front desk staff are friendly and helpful.
