"Worst customer service experience at a hotel ever"
2 of 5 stars Reviewed Apr 15, 2014

Dee at the front desk during check-in was EXTREMELY RUDE. We arrived at 3:40 (40 minutes after check-in) and instead of greeting us, her exact words were "your room isn't ready and I don't know when it will be, she is upstairs and isn't answering me". I asked if someone could go ask and she said, "I said she isn't answering me". Keep in mind, a young man who worked at the hotel was sitting at the lobby computer on his cell phone and surfing on the internet. He certainly could have walked upstairs and found out when our room would be ready for us. When we returned to the hotel an hour later, she didn't say a word. I handed her my reservation confirmation number and she handed me the room keys. The only thing she said was "do you need a wake up call". The other employee I mentioned above was still on his cell and surfing on the computer so I stood there waiting so I could print my boarding pass. Dee then told him to move since I needed the computer. He did and I sat down to print it. The printer wouldn't work. Dee tried to get it going for 15 minutes and I finally asked her if she could print it for me behind the desk at her computer. She said "not now, you can try and come down later". She then proceeded to sit down and eat her carry-out food behind the desk. I told her I needed to get it printed and the fact that they had a computer and printer available was a main reason I chose to stay there. She then called the other employee to see if they could get the printer to work. I asked again, can you please just print these out for us at your computer? She said "not right now". The other employee was finally able to get them to print, after we spent 30 minutes waiting. Finally, when we left in the morning with our luggage (which was a clear indicator that we were leaving), not a word was said to us by the morning desk attendant. Your typical person would have said something such as "Good morning, or thank you for staying with us, or have a good day" or SOMETHING. Her attitude didn't seem much better than Dee's. Dee is by far the most unprofessional individual I've ever encountered at a hotel. I can assure you that I will never stay at that property again, maybe never at La Quinta again because of her.

Stayed here overnight before flying out to San Juan. The beds were extremely comfortable. Room was clean. Breakfast included and had good options. Convenient to airport and the shuttle service was excellent, especially upon arrival back to Baltimore.

"Clean, comfortable, excellent value"

I selected this as a pet friendly property on a recent drive from CT to SC. This is located very close to BWI and they offer an excellent airport shuttle service. The hotel is situated in a corporate area so there are several convenient restaurant options in the immediate area such as Ruby Tuesday and Cracker Barrel. They also had a menu in the room for a food delivery service. I found the room to be very clean and comfortable. I did wish the rooms were a bit more insulated as I could hear hall noise and other loud guests during the night. My suggestion is to run your fan to block some of that out. For those seeking a pet friendly propertly, there was a nice large grassy area for dog walking behind the hotel. The standard La Quinta breakfast options were available. Overall the price was right, the room was spotless, the bed was comfy, and my dog loved staying here. it was perfect for my one night stay.

"Down Hill"
3 of 5 stars Reviewed Apr 5, 2014

The last time we stayed in this location the staff was exceptional, setting this LaQuinta apart from many of the other "same as always" LaQuinta locations. Our visit this time however, found the front desk to be surly, not interested and definitely a change from the last visit. When I checked in I did see the big sign near the front desk that said, "LaQuinta Inn & Suites". Being a gold member of the LaQuinta frequent traveler club, I inquired if I'd been upgraded (which is standard at this level). The front desk clerk never even looked up and said, "You're in a king." I said, "Are there upgrades available?" Again, never looking up, she said, "You're in a king." I said, "Are there any suites available?" She laughed, rolled her eyes at me, and said, "Oh, we don't have suites." I pointed to the sign and said, "Oh, I guess they're just kidding there, then?" She said, "Yeah, I guess they are." Each subsequent interaction with the front desk brought the same, "I could case less" attitude. I was shocked! This was such a change from the last visit! The room itself is typical LaQuinta fare, as is the breakfast. What set this location apart from this visit was the impeccable service from the staff we experienced on our last visit. This isn't simply about whether any upgrades were available, rather, the attentiveness, eye contact and genuine concern for a customer I experienced last time. After this visit, I will elect to stay elsewhere, as for the money, there are way too many other selections near the airport.

"Good option for BWI area"
5 of 5 stars Reviewed Mar 31, 2014

In an area packed with hotels, the La Quinta is a relatively inexpensive option that is perfectly clean and comfortable. Complimentary shuttle runs at least twice an hour to the airport, more frequently for arriving passengers--just call from the courtesy phones near BWI baggage claim. In-room TV is on the small side but is an updated model with good channel selection. The included breakfast features waffles, bagels, fresh fruit, and USA Today newspaper--there is also a Starbucks within easy walking distance nearby.
