The downstairs meeting area is terrific, although you'll find spotty cell phone service below ground level. The banquet staff does a great job setting up and there's reliable WIFI throughout the hotel, including downstairs in the meeting rooms. The staff is great and the sleeping rooms are very nice. Ask for one without a view if you want quiet, because you'll be tucked in a corner near another building and almost no road noise will reach you.
This hotel was located close to many of the Chicago attractions as well as a very pleasant place to stay. The exercise room is small, but worked out just fine for my 30 minute cardio workout. I didn't have the continental breakfast or try the pool but I heard from others who did that it was nice. I stayed on the 4th floor on the street side and was suprised how quiet it was above the movement of the city.
Went to Chicago for a short weekend trip.. Stayed at La Quinta close to the west side of the loop.. The location is pretty good - close to the Washington/Wells CTA train station, and about 10 minute walk to Millenium park, and 5 minute walk to the Willis/Sears tower.. Hotel had free Wifi and breakfast. The service was just average, though.. The staff was not rude, but not very inviting and courteous either.. They skipped house keeping service one day for no reason.. The staff offered towels etc. but didn't bother to apologize for it.. The hotel was neat and clean.. In summary, a decent hotel, but service could have been better..
I stay here for work at least once month and have booked it fora long weekend too. It is clean and all the employees are top notch with customer service. I miss a room device option but having a breakfast area makes up for it.
This is a great family option too! Each room has a small fridge and microwave. There is a small pool. The couches are more like day beds. If your room has one it could serve as an additional sleeping option for an extra guest.
The train, bus, and cabs are extremely accessible. I wish the fitness room were larger (it is smaller than a guest room so don't even think you will get on equipment from 6-8 am). This isn't a problem in the warmer months when you can take a jog to Lakeshore and take in the great shore and skyline.
This was a great experience at this hotel. Staff was very courteous room were extremely clean. The location was in walking distance of everything. This will be my hotel of choice whenever I'm visiting Chicago
