My boyfriend and I went to Chicago this past weekend. Everything about this hotel was wonderful. Location was great in the downtown financial district, the service was great (super friendly), the breakfast was fantastic, and the rooms were perfect and spacious. Our flight was super early and then a super late departure, we were able to check our bags anytime we wanted so that we could walk around. When we checked in , we got a free upgrade and were pleasantly surprised. Close to so many amenities, however most things downtown are closed early or on weekends but it's so close to walk or subway it to wherever you need to be. Prices are expensive to Chicago and this was one of the most inexpensive and best hotels we have been to.
The location was excellent, with everything nearby in the downtown Chicago area. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The ventilation system was very loud and ran continuously making it difficult to sleep. Room service was not so good taking forever and delivering a burnt pizza.
The downstairs meeting area is terrific, although you'll find spotty cell phone service below ground level. The banquet staff does a great job setting up and there's reliable WIFI throughout the hotel, including downstairs in the meeting rooms. The staff is great and the sleeping rooms are very nice. Ask for one without a view if you want quiet, because you'll be tucked in a corner near another building and almost no road noise will reach you.
This hotel was located close to many of the Chicago attractions as well as a very pleasant place to stay. The exercise room is small, but worked out just fine for my 30 minute cardio workout. I didn't have the continental breakfast or try the pool but I heard from others who did that it was nice. I stayed on the 4th floor on the street side and was suprised how quiet it was above the movement of the city.
Went to Chicago for a short weekend trip.. Stayed at La Quinta close to the west side of the loop.. The location is pretty good - close to the Washington/Wells CTA train station, and about 10 minute walk to Millenium park, and 5 minute walk to the Willis/Sears tower.. Hotel had free Wifi and breakfast. The service was just average, though.. The staff was not rude, but not very inviting and courteous either.. They skipped house keeping service one day for no reason.. The staff offered towels etc. but didn't bother to apologize for it.. The hotel was neat and clean.. In summary, a decent hotel, but service could have been better..
