"Won't be back & wouldn't recommend"

First of all, I called the hotel on our way to Jackson and booked a room, sight unseen. That was the biggest mistake and I don't recommend that approach. I'll start with the positives- the king bed was comfortable and having a digital thermostat on the wall helped keep the room comfortable. The bathroom was clean- including the grout between the tiles- that's practically unheard of for a 2-star hotel. Also, the lady at the desk seemed friendly. On to the negatives. We parked in the back so we could use the back door, which had quick access to the stairs. It was a Saturday night and there were bags and bags of garbage piled up next to the door (these were still there when we left). The carpet on the stairs was filthy (the elevator worked but was slower than taking the stairs for us). When we entered our room on the third floor it smelled like a musty old trailer house that had once been smoked in. My husband bought a bottle of Febreze from Dollar General (practically next door) and sprayed everything! He even removed the a/c cover and cleaned the dust and buildup from it in the bathtub, hoping to eliminate the smell. We didn't bother the desk because it was already nearly 9 pm and we were exhausted. It was too late to change hotels or rooms. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, until we got 2 more comforters to pad the mattress, which helped our children sleep so much better. Breakfast. *sigh* The waffle iron had so much batter stuck to it that it was unusable. The selection was poor and both garbage cans were overflowing (at about 9:30am). Again, the floors were dirty. On a side-note, in case you weren't aware, this hotel allows pets. That could be useful for some of you, but I wouldn't have chosen to stay if I had known.

"a wonderful long term stay"

This place has the most marvelous staff, from Linda, the front desk supervisor, to ray, and Dexter, both extraordinary front desk clerks, and Alice, one of the most professional, outstanding, gracious members of a housekeeping staff ANYWHERE. The hotel has a super overall staff.... The janitorial engineer, Thank is brilliant and an incredibly hard worker. We have stayed @ this hotel more than once for extended stays, it has a wonderful breakfast, the buffet lady is fun and extremely kind. They have a nice business center, the beds are very comfy and every room we have ever had has been very clean. We highly recommend this hotel, and the area itself is alot of fun. Would look forward to being sent back to this area for work, would stay there again. they have a vast area for Tygresse, our dog, to run around.

"cheap room, don't expect fancy"
2 of 5 stars Reviewed Jul 24, 2014

Booked our room online and this wasn't the cheapest hotel in Jackson (and nowhere near the most expensive), so I had expectations within reason. The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful, even arranged for a rollaway, though she brought it up to the room herself. Our room was on the second floor and the hallway smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The smell continued in the room, though not quite as strong, and eased up some after we brought in dinner from McDonald's and also ran the air conditioner for a while. The bed was comfortable enought to sleep on, the bathroom was clean and functional, and we did not see bugs or grime in the room. Breakfast was waffles, biscuits, gravy, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, fruit, bagels and toast, and coffee, juice, and milk. Overall, the room satisfied our need for a place to sleep and to eat breakfast, but there are probably cleaner and newer hotels around for the same price.

"Looks good on the outside"

Unfortunately, the inside does not match. The carpet in the hallways and in the rooms is old, dirty, stained and overall nasty. I could NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. the check in process was Ok and the staff was OK - not overly friendly or rude - just there to do their job.

"Scary"
1 of 5 stars Reviewed Jul 17, 2014

We dragged our belongs to the top floor and opened the door to a room that had not been cleaned at all. Took our cart back to the desk and was given another room. It had been "cleaned". My husband told me to pack up and we were heading down the road to Memphis. We'd been driving 13 hrs. already. We will never stop there again. Memphis -Airport was much better. We give it 3 stars. Germantown would have been a much better choice. We'll remember for next time.
