"A nice little hotel for a short stay"

Prior reviews are correct in that this is a very clean hotel with friendly service. We only stayed one night, arriving late in the evening and departing early the next morning. The common areas are fairly updated and the breakfast area is very pleasant. The guest rooms are showing their age and furniture shows a lot of wear and tear. It is definitely a budget hotel and, for the price we got on Priceline, we got a pretty good deal. The heater/ac unit was loud and woke me up several times during the night. There is nothing wrong with this hotel, but it is definitely not up to the local competition with many new hotels in the area. I really appreciate the courtesy of the front desk clerk after a long night of driving in the rain.
We found this inn to be clean, restful, convenient and all of the staff were so helpful and sweet...A Cracker barrel is right across the street, so once parked after a long drive we did not have to get back in our car to get dinner. There was a very long side walk with green grass to walk our dogs and trash receptors for our "doggie bags" overall one of the best! ...definitely would stay here again
We recently visited the Des Moines area and chose this hotel based on great ratings and an even greater price. We were not disappointed! After a long day's drive, we were greeted by Larry at check-in, who went out of his way to make sure our requests were honored and that we were happy with our room location. Even though the lobby was full of very loud, very excited children when we arrived, we never heard a peep from anyone once we were in our room.
Our 2-double room was a little smaller than what we're used to and the bathroom a bit "cozy," but everything was very neat, tidy and clean. The hotel has obviously made efforts to update their rooms, as some aspects were newer and more modern than others. The beds were extremely comfortable. Our kids enjoyed their time in the pool. We made good use of the fridge and microwave in our room as well. The continental breakfast was very basic and could have used a bit more variety, but it was sufficient. The staff in charge of the breakfast was very attentive to the guests' needs.
The location was fantastic! The hotel is very near the Interstate and easy to find. It was an easy 10-minute drive to our concert venue downtown. Two restaurants are located adjacent to the hotel and a great little gas/convenience store is just a few steps down the street (with awesome fresh bakery items, I might add).
In closing, we would stay here again in a heartbeat! We enjoyed 2 nights of sound sleep and the convenience of shopping and food establishments nearby. This room was half the price of the downtown rooms near the concert venue. We may have sacrified a few perks and amenities, but we were very comfortable and felt it to be quite safe, clean, and quiet. And again, the hotel staff were some of the friendliest I've encountered - a hard-to-find perk at hotels these days. Thanks to Larry and the others for making us feel so welcome and comfortable. We will be back!
Clean is very important to us, and this location was clean. The staff was friendly, and the location easy to reach. However, the breakfast was pretty meager. What you would expect at a cheap price motel. We were on our annual spring migration so it was a good time to compare.
rooms were clean and large. lots of outlets! Staff was very friendly. nice tv. fridge and microwave. furniture looked a little worn and bed was on its last legs, but was still ok. floors are thin so I recommend staying on the 4th floor so no one is above you walking around.
