"Graduation weekend"

Stayed here the first time for a college graduation weekend. It's a very nice hotel right off the interstate, just a few miles from the school, and close to restaurants and stores. Our room was good, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom sparkling clean. The only thing I missed in the room was a small refrigerator, but that wasn't critical. The breakfast was okay for me since I only eat toast; coffee could have been stronger. Additional family members came to the same hotel and we all enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay here again if in the area.
In town for graduation. Traveled with boyfriend and 2 dogs. Quiet comfortable stay. Clean spacious room. Would recommend. Free parking a plus for the area. Not a lot of space for dog potty breaks but adequate. Staff poop scoops too which was a pleasant surprise. Windows in upstairs room open to let in fresh evening air. Missed breakfast so can't comment. Everything worked and staff friendly.
Conventional motel convenient to both Midtown and Buckhead. Access is tricky because it's located by an I-85/75 off ramp and also where Lenox Road changes to Cheshire Bridge. There's lots of traffic at this junction and the left turn on Chantilly could be missed. However, the motel's access instructions suggest exiting at North Druid Hills Road and weaving through a business complex. I guess that's OK during daylight hours. I was here to visit family and also to attend several events near the Arts Center and Piedmont Park. So this motel was in a good location for both, at most a 10 minute drive through the streets. But other than the location and budget price I didn't notice any special perks. The breakfast was free but not very tasty. There is no gazebo entry that is the style for many La Quinta properties. I was here over a weekend and the halls were noisy at night with hyperactive children. The reception area tends to retain the cigarette smoke odor. However, there are lots of restaurants and shops a very short drive away. Even a movie theater that's walkable if you mind the traffic on Cheshire Bridge. But, remember, this is a budget accommodation. Don't expect much more.
We recently stayed at this La Quinta Inn for 6 days. I'd read all the reviews on TripAdvisor, going back at least one year, and was a bit apprehensive due to some of the negative reviews. But I knew, after much research, that this hotel was in the best location for where we wanted to be in Atlanta, as well as the most reasonable price.
We liked that a light breakfast was included if we wanted it, and it served as "fuel" on a few days, and instead of the in-room coffee maker available, we enjoyed the breakfast room's coffee every morning. There are only around 7 tables with at least 4 chairs at each table, and it was pretty busy and crowded a few times around 8 a.m., but you can take your breakfast back to your room if you can't get a table. There were at least 2 types of sliced bread, 2 kinds of bagels, muffins, 3 kinds of dry cereal, instant oatmeal and a microwave, small Trix yogurts (why that brand? Ick!), hard boiled eggs, small apples and occasionally oranges, a waffle-maker, 4-slice toaster, a variety of condiments (packaged jelly, cream cheese, peanut butter, butter, etc.), milk, OJ, coffee, and hot water for tea. It was quick and easy, but there are so many restaurants and diners where you can get a really great breakfast in Atlanta-- which we enjoyed a few mornings.
We had a room with 2 double beds and the linens were of decent enough quality and the beds were comfortable. Our room faced I-85 but with the thermostat turned to "Fan", it usually minimized the traffic noise (I'm a light sleeper and always travel with small "white noise" machines and earplugs, so they also helped.) We were pleased that the doors to the rooms are rigged so they closed fairly quietly, unlike many hotels where doors seem to be slamming shut constantly.
There was a sink and vanity just inside the room's door and a separate bathroom with toilet and tub/shower. The shower-head pressure was strong and there were no problems with maintaining the water temperature. The towels were fine-- we had all that we needed-- and small bars of soap and small bottles of shampoo were provided. There was also a wall mounted hair dryer and iron/ironing board available.
Storage-wise, there was a small area next to the bathroom to hang clothes, two large drawers in a long chest that held a flat screen TV, and there was a middle bedside table with drawer. There's also a desk with rolling desk chair, but the desk had no drawer. There are aspects of the room that need refreshing-- a beat up arm on the desk chair, some woodwork that was chipped, but overall, it was pretty clean, and we were basically only there to sleep. Lighting in our room was adequate.
There were no odor problems that other reviewers have mentioned, and although some of the areas and businesses near the hotel were seedy and "Adult" oriented (and this area hasn't changed that much in the past 30-plus years since we lived in Atlanta), we felt relatively safe and there was good lighting in the parking lot. The location was close to perfect for us-- 10 minutes from Buckhead and 10 to 15 minutes (depending on traffic) from Midtown and the Virginia Highland area where we spent most of our time. We would have preferred to stay in lodging closer to Midtown, but all the hotels in that area were beyond our budget.
Our room was on the third floor and the day we arrived, the elevator had just been repaired, so we were glad for that. The front desk staff were all very friendly, helpful, and responsive to a few needs and issues that arose. All things considered, we had a good stay at this La Quinta Inn and would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
The room was clean great location but had the worst breakfast selection I've ever had only muffins kix and yogurt really let me down if they were to add a meat or biscuits and gravy they woulda been great. But as you can tell I'm a breakfast person but other than that the hotel was great its off the highway but you can't even hear it it was quiet I would stay again but bring my own breakfast.
