"New Renovations- Awesome!"
4 of 5 stars Reviewed Mar 11, 2014

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past because it is close to family and friends in the area and is pet friendly. Our most recent stay was the best one yet as they have totally renovated lobby and rooms. It looks so good and made our stay very nice. Our room had a king bed, fridge/microwave and couch. The carpeting is new and they have repainted the rooms to have light gray walls with one dark gray accent wall that the bed is on. New lamps and art on the walls too. The look is very modern but comfortable. The room was very clean and the staff at this location has always been really helpful. My only gripe is the breakfast options but that goes for all la quinta locations. We often skip the breakfast. We will be staying here again for future visits!

"Not children friendly"
1 of 5 stars Reviewed Feb 17, 2014

I want to respond to an earlier review and also point out other reviews over the past several months. The weekend of February 14-16 A hockey team of 8-10 year olds stayed at the hotel during a tournament weekend. We had a very pleasant women check us in and was attending the front desk both evenings we stayed. We were told by the morning desk person that there were some complaints of our children being loud until 3am. I want to defend our group for a minute. 1. We payed the same price to stay, eat breakfast and swim in pool as everyone else. 2. Yes, police were called as the morning front desk person LEFT for the day. If we were that much trouble I think he would have stuck around to talk to the authorities. As it happened the police officer came in, Said hello to a mother, went to the front desk attendant and she denied that there was any trouble at that time or in the evening and then he left. 3. Our kids were asleep in their beds by 11 pm both nights-they were exhausted from playing hockey. (Similar to the November review). 4. Kids are kids but they were very well behaved and they were never left unattended. I have the same comments on regards to the staff at the La Quinta as several others on this board over the past several months. The majority of the staff are rude. Except for the pleasant evening front desk women. I feel they did not like having their hotel full because that meant they actually had to do something like work. I actually told the cleaning person that she did not have to clean our room in the morning that we just needed to give us clean towels. She said "cool!" And went on her way. We did take up room at breakfast. But no more then if the hotel was full on any other weekend. We also used the breakfast area to eat dinner Saturday night. After we were finished we cleaned up and wiped down the tables afterwards. My recommendations are to the families with children-the La Quinta are not kid or family friendly so do not stay here.

"Always a GREAT experience"
5 of 5 stars Reviewed Feb 16, 2014
Reg Y | Toronto, Canada
I?ve been an Elite member of La Quinta for a good number of years. And very happy that I chose this hotel for a good number of reasons. The Macedonia location stands out well above the rest in terms of leadership and staffing. We?ve all heard that saying that ?children will be children.? Over the past weekend, children were the reason why a few guests were highly upset. The parents let their children play and run in the hallways during the afternoon and again in the later hours. I applaud the Front Desk personnel Greg for speaking on behalf of La Quinta as a corporation. Greg, inasmuch other employees, understand that hotels do not condone children running amuck. Especially when some parents are hesitant to control their own children. Some individuals make reservations to get rest and relaxation. While eating breakfast just 30 feet away from the check out desk, I listened to some of the parents berate Greg ? for taking the initiative to enforce company policy. Congratulations to Greg for telling the parents ?they have over extended their stay, and now it?s time for them to leave.? Once the parents started to yell ? the local police should have been summoned to escort them from the building. Overall my stays have always been fantastic. It?s because of employees like Greg, who are not afraid to enforce policy, makes my stays much more comfortable. Keep up the great work.

"Under Construction"
2 of 5 stars Reviewed Jan 2, 2014

It's always bad when you find out the hard way your hotel is under construction. They were replacing the flooring so I had the sounds of drills, saws, and hammers going constantly. I was there for work, so I was trapped and being sleep deprived. They really shouldn't book rooms on the same floor work is being done. The workers were seriously right outside my door the entire 5 nights of my stay. The front desk people were pretty nice but none of them mentioned the construction or apologized or anything. The room was only somewhat clean, the towels sooo small, and the room was cold. I think my heater was broken - it kept blowing cold air into the room. Not good for Ohio in December! The pillows were pretty bad, really lumpy. I hope I get to stay somewhere else next time I'm there for work!

"Dog hair and dirty towels"
1 of 5 stars Reviewed Dec 31, 2013
Justin B | Cincinnati, Ohio
Upon opening the room door you could smell a distinct dog smell. We decided because of the time of night we would ignore that. However, upon further review right next to the bed there was dog hair all over the carpet. When I went to use the restroom and closed the door there was a hung dirty towel on the door. In addition, there was hair in the shower. It appeared as though the cleaning service put the "ready for you" sign up just because they refilled the soap. Clearly, no cleaning was performed! Overall, worst hotel experience!
